Get Healthy and Stay Healthy

 
     Right now the number one concern of Americans and everyone around the world is their health.  People are a bit frightened at the possibility of catching COVID 19 and becoming very ill.  Yes,  people are dying of this disease.
 
     If you look at the statistics carefully, we see that the overwhelming majority of people who will not survive this disorder are elderly and people with underlying health problems.  The ability to stay healthy and keep a strong immune system is largely up to us.
 
     The lifestyle we live, the foods we eat, the condition of our body, and our level of fitness, all play a huge role in our ability to stay healthy and ward off disease.  
This Pandemic is shining a bright light on those with underlying health disorders such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Obesity, and Heart or Lung disease.
 
     Each of these disorders can lead to a worse outcome if one contracts the Coronavirus.  How do we fend this virus off?  We work on getting our entire body healthier.  We eat more vegetables and fruits.  We avoid high carbohydrate foods and snacks and we exercise regularly.  Of course, hopefully, it didn't take this pandemic to get you started, but better late than never.
 
     If you were already fit and lean, then you are prepared. Keep up the work.  If not, we have some work to do.  There is no way to get fit and healthy overnight, so don't attempt it.  That will lead to injury, pain, and a setback.  Do something today though.  Make an adjustment in diet.  Get in a walk.  Repeat this tomorrow and the next day.  Our bodies respond quite quickly to improvement.
 
     I've seen uncontrolled Type II Diabetics reverse their blood sugars to normal in as little as two weeks.  I've seen people lose up to 15 pounds of excess body fat in 2 weeks.  Though this is not required, getting started is.  Don't live in fear of a virus.  Live a life that will suppress the virus.
 
     This Coronavirus won't be the last virus or bacteria or germ our body has to confront.  Why not start preparing now to reduce risk from any contagious illness that comes at us now or in the future.  This is a wake-up call.  This is a signal that we must live a more fit and healthier and leaner life if we want to continue to live life.
 
     We can extend our lives many quality years by taking action today and being persistent over the rest of our lives.  Now is the time to get our body ready for war with a virus.  Hopefully, you don't contract this virus, but if unfortunately, it visits, have the body and immune system of a warrior and defeat it quickly.
 
     Be safe, follow the rules to avoid contracting Coronavirus, and Live Lean, Live Long, and Live Life to the Fullest!
